My work is short term and solution focused. I draw on several therapeutic approaches, depending on the nature of the problem, including behavior therapy, family therapy and strategic therapy. I have a diverse background from 45 years of experience in the treatment of children, adolescents, and adults. I am expert in a number of psychotherapeutic approaches, including short-term solution-focused therapy, cognitive-behavior therapy, family-systems therapy, hypnotherapy, and psychoanalytic therapy. I developed an evidence-based wellness program with a positive psychology emphasis at the Ann Arbor VA Hospital.

I specialize in the treatment of: * anxiety and mood disorders in adults and children * OCD and autistic spectrum disorders * behavior disorders in children and teenagers * anorexia nervosa * insomnia * pain management

My wife and partner, Kim, is a Clinical Social Worker and Creative Arts Therapist who utilizes drama, art, and music as expressive tools. She has a special interest in the following areas: individual & couples experiencing infertility, grief counseling, and adolescents dealing with body image issues.

* Do you find yourself getting "caught up" in your thoughts? * Do you spend too much time and energy struggling with your feelings? * Do you worry too much about the future? Is it hard to let go of the past? The workshop is designed to: * Help you to identify thoughts, feelings, and problems that are keeping you from living as fully as you would like. * Practice techniques such as mindfulness and emotional acceptance that help you to let go of those struggles. * Introduce ways to identify and focus on what is really important and meaningful in your life.
