My education and background in philosophy and clinical psychology, and over 30 years in the field, help me assist individuals with a broad range of life difficulties (anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties), taking a rather wholistic approach to the person. I see my goal as helping individuals learn more about themselves (their hidden strengths and weaknesses) so they can build upon their strengths, minimize the effects of their weaknesses, and thus more efficiently and effectively face the concerns that are causing stress. To this end a number of self-report personality measures are administered which help identify strengths and weaknesses.
I have extensive training and experience in assessment of adult and child ADHD. I have a particular interest in the integration of religious experience and psychological development, and have done intense research of conversion experiences - how people change.
Beyond my "formal" education I have continuously pursued on-going education in the areas of Adlerian, Jungian, and Cognitive therapies. Having designed and taught several college courses has helped integrate all my learning into what I believe is perceptive and insightful understanding of human nature.
