Hi, I'm Laurie! Do you wish your therapist would you through a whole-person lens instead of discussing health & mental health separately? Do you want a provider for your preteen/teen who is playful & skilled at engaging children? Are you an adult who likes a more personal, connected approach to therapy? Well, look no further! I enjoy using storytelling, educational videos, games (for preteens/teens), & conversation to help clients of all ages improve self-esteem & gain a better understanding of sense of self. I provide a safe space for venting, learning research-based skills to manage symptoms, & feeling supported.
With over 25 years of experience working with children, teens, & adults, I spent much of that time working for the world-renowned Kennedy Krieger Institute, (a Johns Hopkins affiliate), where I was also in leadership. Trauma, Depression, Parenting, Perfectionism, Narcissistic recovery, Relationship issues, & Anxiety are some of my specialties.
I offer warm, client-centered, holistic care, with empathy & support. I have post-graduate certificates in Treating Children & Adolescents, Leadership, Fitness Nutrition, & Integrative Medicine. More personally, I like hiking, watching Marvel movies, lifting weights & crowd surfing at rock concerts. I believe we should never stop playing like children!
