Many people look for happiness outside of themselves, but true happiness must come from within...I specialize in helping individuals and families with grief, trauma and loss especially loss of children, victims of crime, sudden death, infertility and major life changes. I also have an expertise in palliative counseling with those who are living with or have family members living with chronic, terminal illnesses. My approach is to support you in preventing and relieving suffering. I am certified in addictions and provide telemedicine as clinically indicated.
There is a special connection that one experiences with another when "they have walked in one's shoes". I have unusual insight into loss and have experienced my own recovery with the death of my children, cancer and infertility. Since I decided to tell my story publicly, I have appeared on Dr. Phil and developed a paradigm of five recovery stages of grief.
I orient towards adaptation and shifting one's power from their events that keep them "stuck" to living "free". It is my hope that I will serve as your partner in offering guidance through grief of what happens when we encounter an unwanted, unexpected reality and to share this concept with you……Pain is inevitable, suffering is optional.
