My concept of counseling is all about learning how to empower yourself to weather the ups and downs in life. My goal is to build a relationship with you that allows the space to process hardships and traumatic experiences that you have faced and might be facing still. I can help with a wide array of problems ranging from depression, anxiety, PTSD, and more. I work with children, teens, and adults. My passion is trauma work. I specialize in helping people of all ages who have experienced domestic violence, sexual assault, and other forms of violence.
My counseling philosophy is holistic- I believe in attending to both the mind & body. I meet my clients where they are at, integrating a variety of techniques and theories based on needs. I use modalities such as gestalt therapy, motivational interviewing, polyvagal theory, trauma-focused expressive arts therapy, & trauma-focused cognitive behavior therapy
You are the expert on you. My job is to help you explore the parts of you that you want to grapple with, improve on, change, and/or heal. It isn’t to tell you what to do; it is to walk alongside you and provide you with the tools needed to help you become empowered, informed, and improved. This is a group designed to help young girls ages 13-15 connect with peers and learn valuable skills such as self-esteem, assertive communication, and boundary setting. This is an opportunity for girls to discuss pressures they face in this age group in a supportive environment that both challenges them and offers them security in exploring tough issues.
