Lauren Schluterman is a licensed professional counselor and 200-hour YTT who served as Director of Crisis, Forensics, and Restoration for Arisa Health Central Region for a long while prior to her disabling stroke in 2021. She has since pivoted her career to telehealth in order to provide the services she loves most in the safest possible ways. She uses person-centered and trauma-focused techniques in her therapeutic relationships. Her career passion areas include family preservation, suicide prevention, crisis intervention, queer community and gender identity.
My approach is that of unconditional positive regard, straight forward communication. I am not afraid of using accountability to get clients closer to their goals. I grew up in chaos which motivated me to understand psychology more. The reward is in seeing clients attain goals through hard work and our relationship.
We set small attainable goals and set up for success by building our small steps to build to overall goals. I do a comprehensive intake upon the first session to gather information, history, and to build rapport.
