My goal as a psychologist is to help you gain insight into what may be contributing to you feeling stuck, uncertain of where to go next, or unfulfilled by your current relationships. By putting words to complex emotions, ambivalence, confusing thoughts, and behaviors that no longer serve you, it is my hope that you will be able to better understand what may be getting in the way of your goals. In the process, we will work to strengthen your connections with others, and perhaps most importantly, with yourself. I am available to offer evening hours to work best with your schedule.
I view the therapeutic relationship as critical and value a collaborative, warm and interactive process of establishing your goals and tailoring treatment to match them. Your worries, desires, assumptions and vulnerabilities come with you to therapy. Together, we will use the therapy space to better understand how they may play a role in feeling unsatisfied.
In addition to seeing patients, I maintain an active research and teaching career which has helped me to fine-tune my understanding of how we get stuck and how we grow, both inside and outside the therapy room. I recognize the emotional vulnerability it takes to reach out for help, but know that I'm looking forward to getting to know you when you are ready.
