We'll explore how to identify and reframe negative thoughts, regulate mood, improve communication, learn and implement new behaviors . We'll also explore how your childhood experiences might impact and inform your current ability to form meaningful bonds. I work with create space for BIPOC, AAPI, Latinx, LGBTQ+ (diverse) clients to be candid about their experiences. We identify cognitive, emotional and behavioral distress related to anxiety, depression, PTSD, ADHD, roles an expectations, discrimination or privilege, shame, transitions, anxiety, grief, trauma and/or abuse, racial, ethic and cultural identity, and relationships.
I use foundations of psychodynamic and attachment frameworks such as Attachment Theory, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and trauma focused therapies to help my clients identify strategies and interventions that help alleviate or eliminate the impact of distress and symptoms.
It is important for all people to feel safe and that they have a place of belonging. I work to ensure that clients feel heard, seen, felt and supported. I ask thoughtful and objective questions to learn and understand clients' unique struggles, perspectives, preferred ways of being, interests, and ambitions. I will at times challenge you toward growth.
