Hey! Just wanted to check-in real quick to ask if you've been scrolling in an uncomfortable position for too long. (Yep, your jaw and shoulders might need to be unhooked, too.) Scrolling through tons of filtered search results can feel impossible, especially while trying to find help for yourself or someone you love. Give yourself a moment if you need it, okay? Okay, cool. Now that we have that taken care of.... Starting therapy can be scary, and awkward. (Look at you, taking this step!) I strive to create a space where your emotions and experiences, questions and dreams are witnessed and validated.
My approach to therapy might be a bit different from the movies: while I do utilize evidence-based techniques, I also use quotes from The Office, podcasts and books, Taylor Swift lyrics, that TikTok you saw last week, and lots of humor to help you form, understand, and cultivate your specific goals. There's no pressure to recline and spill your secrets.
So, what will you get from me as a therapist? Simply put: I show up to sessions with empathy, authenticity, and pop culture references that I'll try to weave into a metaphor. Less simply-put: I'm here to sit with you, think with you, laugh with you, and process with you while you venture through your therapy process. I'm so glad you're here.
