Lauren Gerardi, PhD, Psychologist in Glen Cove
I am a licensed clinical psychologist with experience treating children, adolescents, and adults with a wide variety of emotional and behavioral concerns. I practice a style of psychotherapy which focuses on building a warm, empathic relationship between therapist and client, and on helping the client to gain a better understanding of their own thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I aim to help each client achieve his or her own goals and fulfill their potential.
When working with children and teens, I focus on helping the family as a whole function in the happiest and healthiest manner possible. I provide parent consultation and training, school consultation, and special education advocacy to families as well. I can work with children as young as three years of age.
I tend to practice psychodynamic psychotherapy, an insight-oriented treatment, and I also incorporate aspects of other techniques into my work as well, such as mindfulness, coping skills, grounding techniques, and emotion regulation techniques. I offer convenient daytime and evening hours. All information is kept strictly confidential.
