My approach looks at people holistically concentrating on the interactions between thoughts, emotions, physical wellness, and spirituality. I do not have a cookie cutter approach and understand that life and individuals are complex. The relationship between therapist and client is the driving force for change; therefore my number one goal is to build a strong and supportive alliance. I use play therapy with children and expressive therapies (art and creative writing) with clients of all ages. I enjoy working in creative ways with clients when it is a good fit.
I see clients of all ages; however, my main experience is working with adolescents and children. I love learning from my clients and journeying with them as they learn skills to cope with difficulties in life such as depression, cutting, anxiety, relationship issues, bullying, trauma, abuse, and more.
I am a Registered Play Therapist (RPT) and have ten years of experience mentoring adolescents and college aged young adults. I also have experience as a court advocate (CASA) working with children in foster care; and have counseled high risk adolescents in a residential treatment setting.
