About
"Art speaks to our need to reveal, heal, and transform." Art Therapy is a specialized type of mental health counseling that uses the creative process of art making to improve daily life. Using art in therapy can be a powerful way for individuals of all ages, especially children and adolescents, to express themselves and better communicate their thoughts and feelings. Art Therapy can help to alleviate or decrease stress or discomfort associated with verbalizing thoughts or feelings. In Art Therapy, emphasis is placed on the creative process, rather than the final art product. No art experience, technique, or skill is necessary.
Over the past several years I have worked very passionately with children and families using Art Therapy to help those experiencing anxiety, depression, academic and behavioral issues, and low self-esteem. I provide individual therapy for children and adolescents, as well as, consultation with families, school teams, and other medical professionals.
I specialize in working with children in elementary through high school. Together we can: Create - Express - Learn - Explore - Heal
