You may have been dealing with anxious or distressing thoughts and feelings for a while now, but are finally noticing that they are unmanageable. This may look like loops in your thoughts and feelings, reliving past trauma, broken relationships, or feeling like your needs are never met. Rather than participating in life, it may feel like you’re just going through the motions. This can feel hopeless and exhausting. Through safety built on honesty and openness, I will work with you to become attuned to your internal world, identify your values, develop healthy relationships, and heal from past trauma. I am an EMDR trained therapist.
EMDR therapy helps folks move through past trauma, and relate to it in less distressing ways in the present. I also am trained in the Safe and Sound Protocol, which is an evidence based therapy that retunes your nervous system to be available to connect with others and to find safety in the present moment.
Reaching out for help might feel intimidating. It matters to me that you get the best care possible, so even if we are not a good fit I am committed to helping you find someone who can help you. I believe that people can find purpose and hope even after the most difficult of situations. The forest is able to regrow after a wildfire.

When you come in for EMDR therapy, we spend time identifying memories that feel disturbing to you and work on establishing resources so that you feel better equipped to emotionally regulate. After this phase we work together to reprocess each memory (one by one) until they no longer feel disturbing, and then work to integrate this growth into your daily living.
