I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor that has experience counseling adults in a variety of settings. I take a person-centered relational approach enhancing client strengths and empowering them through collaboration. I enjoy working with clients that have trauma and/or co-occurring disorders. I understand that some people may be aware that they need help processing their trauma and/or understanding why they are using substances. There are other people that are not as far along in the stages of changes. I believe therapy is a joint effort in processing through life's challenges.
I am trained in EMDR and have experience with trauma and co-occurring disorders. I have experience working in both outpatient therapy and substance use disorder treatment settings. I currently offer both services, individually or in conjunction.
Accepting that you might need help is hard, reaching out for help is even more challenging. I believe it is important to provide an open, non-judgmental space because therapy is a cooperative effort that is based on the client-therapist relationship. I believe that therapy allows clients to gain insight and grow while navigating complex issues.
