Hope is the belief that tomorrow can be better than today, and that it will not always feel this way. Hope can come in many forms and from many different parts of your life.
As a licensed school counselor in addition to my LPC, I have worked with adolescents, teenagers, and families for the past 18 years. As someone who has mental health concerns in her family, I know what it is to come to the point of needing help. Counseling is not a job to me, it is a calling and a joy.
I advocate for prioritizing mental health just as you do your physical health. I believe that every person has the right to feel safe, feel heard and understood, and feel connected to another person in community. This is a collaborative effort between the client and the therapist.
