Part of my philosophy of therapy is that if you can't laugh with someone, you probably don't want to cry with them, either. I do both with my clients because I think accepting, respecting & embracing all of your feelings and experiences-- from joy to pain to absurdity and everything else-- is what healing and wholeness are all about. Therapy to me isn't about reaching some outside ideal of perfection; it's about connecting with your true & one-of-a-kind self and becoming who YOU really are.
