I am a warm, caring and insightful licensed psychotherapist, who joins with clients to help identify and understand areas of challenge and gain the insight and the coping skills to overcome them. I believe that empathy and humor are two of the most powerful tools in helping clients affect change. I specialize in working with individuals dealing with issues around transitions such as the loss of a loved one, entering/leaving school, divorce, remarriage, entering the job market, deciding on a career path, coming out as LGBTQ, and being a new parent, among others.
I believe that the primary mechanisms for change are the relationship between client and therapist (relational approach) and the client's development of insight (insight-oriented approach) and agency (mindfulness-based and DBT approaches). I strive to tailor sessions and therapy goals to meet each of my clients individual needs.
My practice is an anti-oppressive, identity-affirming space. I specialize in working with the LGBTQIA+ community and with clients in recovery or considering recovery for drug and alcohol use. I work with adults with depression, anxiety, ADHD, challenges with emotional regulation and those experiencing difficult adjustments to changing life situations.
