About
Relationships are the origin of our greatest growth, yet can also be the source of our greatest challenges. My goal in our work together is to help you as an Individual, Couple, or Family to better understand these multifaceted relationships. Often these complicated relationships come intertwined with other issues which we can also examine together. As your therapist, I will provide empathy, compassion and guidance to help you and/or your family work through your challenges. Please check out my website and 2-minute introductory video: www.LLYoung.com. Thank you.
I obtained my Master's in Social Work from Columbia University. I have advanced post-graduate training in Family Therapy from The Minuchin Center for the Family as well as advanced training in Group Therapy. I am co-author of the book "Making Contact: The Therapist's Guide to Conducting a Successful First Interview."
Please call for a complimentary -15 minute phone consultation. An important thing to remember is you allow yourself the opportunity for growth and change. We can achieve this together. I look forward to speaking with you.

Laura Young, LCSW Counseling Services PC's Groups
Progressive Emotional Communication Group
The aim of the group is to turn your destructive communication patterns into healthy self-assertion. Communicate to the group your feelings and understand why you are having them. Begin to identify maladaptive coping mechanisms. These coping mechanisms may have been helpful in your past but may no longer be helpful and may actually be impeding you from establishing and maintaining more intimate/close personal and professional relationships. Experience the group as a microcosm of the world--discover how you are perceived and express, in a safe place, how you perceive others.
