Marriage & Family Therapist, LMFTA, ATR-P, CMHS
Welcome to Seattle Child Art Therapy! I recognize that your child has their own unique perspective and gifts to offer. While working with me, your child will learn to creatively use their strengths to cope with major life adjustments (parents separating, a new sibling, grief, moving homes or a new school, and/or academic challenges), anxiety, or chronic illness and physical disability. As an Art Therapist focused on child development, I concentrate on a 10 year window of your child's growth between the ages of 4 and 14. Each of those years are different and there is no one-size fits all approach to working with this age group.
One way your child is constantly developing is their verbal communication. It can be hard to express themselves verbally until they actually have the words to describe what they are feeling. Creative therapy techniques are specifically effective for this age group as it allows kids to tell their story with pictures and play without words.
Your child does not have to be an artist or have art experience to work with me. Instead, the heart of the work we do together will be creating a space and structure that can support your child in resolving their challenges through play and expression. I am excited to connect with you! Please do not hesitate to reach out for a free 20 minute consultation.
