Hi, I'm Laura! I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The University of Akron and have worked in the mental health field since 2013. I have experience working with children, adolescents, families, single parents, foster children, and adults navigating a wide range of mental health concerns and life challenges. Additionally, I am certified in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).
My area of focus is on emerging adults with trauma, anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, women’s issues, self-harming behaviors, and disordered eating. I also have extensive experience working with at-risk youth, foster care populations, severe and persistent mental illness, and immigrant and refugee youth adjusting to life in a new country.
When working with clients, I utilize a trauma-informed, person-centered approach that integrates DBT, CBT, TF-CBT, and strengths-based interventions. My goal is to create a supportive and authentic environment where clients feel safe exploring emotions, building coping skills, strengthening relationships, and working toward meaningful, lasting growth.
