I’m Laura Stark, a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor and National Certified Counselor with over 25 years of experience as a psychotherapist working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. My background includes over 10 years of clinical experience caring for adolescents and adults in residential treatment centers and hospitalization programs, along with 5 years as a special education teacher and program coordinator for emotionally challenged students. My areas of focus include mood and anxiety disorders, ADHD (including late-diagnosed ADHD), OCD, life transitions, Tourette Syndrome, and neurodiversity.
I earned my Bachelor of Arts from the University of North Texas and a Master of Arts in Counseling from Amberton University in 1997, becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor in 2007. My counseling approach is eclectic, drawing on methods like CBT, REBT, experiential, and systems therapies to best meet my clients' needs.
In therapy, I aim to help clients gain self-awareness while navigating life’s challenges and struggles. Together, we’ll explore patterns, develop healthy coping skills, and focus on healing and continued personal growth. I’m here to provide support and guidance every step of the way.
