About
Are fear and anxiety stealing your (or your child's) joy? Would you like to help yourself (or your child) learn how to relax? I would be honored to help! My passion is to empower children, adolescents, and adults through building on existing strengths and developing coping strategies to change thinking and behavioral patterns that contribute to excessive worry or anxiety. I specialize in treating trauma (car accidents, abuse, grief and loss, etc.) and relationship/attachment concerns. I have been working with foster and adoptive children, teens, and their families since 2003 and have extensive training with this unique population.
Treating behavior alone does not solve the core problem. I help people of all ages deal with underlying traumas to lessen symptoms of depression and anxiety. I work with parents and children in therapy together to help to increase the child's ability to generalize learned skills into his or her environment (and to build on the parent-child relationship).
I counsel from a Christian perspective, but I respect and work with individuals having a wide range of beliefs. I believe every person has a unique set of strengths, and I strive to motivate clients toward lifelong change. For those who are seeking a more non-traditional therapy setting, I offer video teletherapy services to anyone residing in Florida.
