I am a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor and Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor specializing in work with children and adolescents struggling with impulsivity, hyperactivity, oppositional or defiant behaviors, Autism spectrum disorders, sensory processing concerns, or other social, behavioral, or emotional concerns. I work in coordination with caregivers to implement strategies at home and school to decrease the child's destructive behaviors and bring back a sense of flexibility, adaptability, and peacefulness within the child. My favorite part of the job is collaborating with parents to find solutions that work.
I utilize a variety of treatment modalities, including but not limited to play therapy, parent-child relationship therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy. Through our work together, my focus will be to increase your child's executive functioning skills of inhibition, emotional management, and behavioral management to decrease problematic behaviors.
I believe in the importance of a connected, attuned, and secure parent-child relationship in order for the family system to thrive. My work with clients often incorporates ways for parents to regain a sense of control in their parenting and bring back a sense of joy and connection with their child.
