In my 33 years of experience providing psychotherapy, I have developed expertise in individualized treatment of anxiety, depression, mood disorders, substance use and trauma. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectic Behavioral Therapy. Working with young adults and adults, I offer individualized specialized therapy. Treatment offered targets understanding and management of emotions, surviving and managing crisis, being present and mindful, interpersonal effectiveness, and learning to think and behave in ways that enhance life and building a better future.
I have worked in a variety of settings and positions including Partial Hospitalization Programs, Intensive Outpatient Programs, Case Management Supervisor, Clinical Director, Director of Mental Health Service and therapist and art therapist. The programs I have overseen, developed and provided have been recognized and honored for their excellence nationally and at the state level.
I am a respected trainer in Professionalism and Ethical, Preventing Victimization, Co-occurring Disorders: Mental Illness and Substance Abuse, and the Management of Self-Injurious Behaviors. I have intensive training in Dialectic Behavior Therapy (Linehan) and Motivational Interviewing (Dartmouth). I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in treatment including meditation, coping skills training, art therapy, and yoga.
