Life is challenging and beautiful, and so confusing. We strive toward meaning and connection. Yet, often we feel stuck as we struggle to overcome internal and external barriers to the life we want to lead. Therapy can provide a safe environment to work through difficulties, cope with intense feelings, and move toward positive change. In my approach to counseling, you will find warm support, as well as encouragement to look inward and take action at your own pace. I will listen to you carefully, and if needed, respectfully challenge you to take responsibility for your life, while letting go of self-blame.
I aspire to create an engaging, playful space for our work together. Initially, we will focus on developing a strong therapeutic alliance that allows you to share your concerns as you become ready. We will explore what is important to you personally and in your relationships. We will also work to uncover repetitive patterns and obstacles to self awareness.
I enjoy working with adults, adolescents, children, and couples from diverse backgrounds. I have particular experience with issues of life transitions and relationships. I work from a relational and developmental perspective that draws on my training in existential philosophy, narrative and psychodynamic therapies, and mindful self-compassion.
