Each person's broad web of relationships and external circumstances impacts their view of the world and ability to cope within it. With over 20 years experience as a clinical psychotherapist, I consider these and other factors in my work with adults and couples. My approach is empathic, interactive and collaborative. While i see the importance in identifying root causes for behavior, i believe it is equally important to focus on coping mechanisms in the present and developing effective solutions for managing life's difficulties.
My theoretical perspective is integrative, heavily rooted in the psychodymanic approach, but drawing from relational and cognitive-behavioral (CBT) models when appropriate. Therapy can be short-term, addressing a particular issue or life transition, or longer-term, focusing on more complex problems or personal growth. Concerns range from infertility to relationship challenges to stress management.
