I cater to clients who are ready to start their therapeutic journey and find relief from problematic symptoms ( e.g. depression, anxiety, and those related to relationship problems, parenting concerns to name but a few). Therapy is a collaborative experience therefore it's important to be prepared with honesty and effort to begin along the pathway for positive change. As your therapist, I am here to facilitate communication, to support you and help you recognize and learn new strategies to help you get to where you want to be; this is only possible because I am on the outside, looking in.
I have a genuine passion for psychology and helping others. Often we hold onto those coping strategies, and beliefs that helped us in the past but find them to be anything but helpful to our present. Understanding how one's past has impacted their present can help in creating healthier strategies for life in the present and improve overall wellbeing.
My experience within a variety of settings (hospitals, university counselor and professor, chronic pain clinic psych director, child-custody evaluator, clinical researcher, life coaching, autism specialty therapist, pre-surgical evaluator, clinical testing/evaluator) provides me with strong skills that can be personalized to fit you and your treatment needs.
