I help children and families in many different ways. Some are struggling with a range of psychological and emotional challenges, others are proactively seeking support and guidance. My therapeutic style is open and accepting, and varies slightly depending upon the age of the client. With younger children, my goal is to ensure they feel successful and understood. For parents, I hope to educate and encourage their interactions with their child or children.
I use play therapy with young children (2-6), allowing them free expression in a setting where they are natural and comfortable, while older children (6-9) respond well to activity therapy. I facilitate family therapy and offer parent coaching. I aim for all therapy to focus of improving family relationships.
Though I believe parents typically know their children better than anyone else, a thorough understanding of a child's particular communication style and behavioral motivations serves to enrich the parent-child relationship, and I am honored to be a part of that process.
