About

*For the foreseeable future, all sessions will be held by video. Maybe you are tired of enduring so much pain. Or are longing for closer, more satisfying relationships. Whatever brings you to therapy, talking to a well-trained, warm and sensitive therapist is likely to bring relief. I believe that a collaborative, genuinely caring therapeutic relationship is the key to successful therapy. Within the context of an empathic relationship, a person safe to get to know her or his own feelings, habits, and their roots, and becomes unbound to repeat the same unhelpful patterns.
I offer adult, adolescent, and couples therapy. I run a Women's Interpersonal Process Group, where members receive support from each other, notice how they draw others to them or push others away, and explore issues of self-esteem. I will run a Mindfulness for Affect Regulation 4-Part Workshop, to teach skills of tolerating & regulating painful emotions.
My approach is primarily psychodynamic, but I integrate aspects of cognitive-behavioral therapy and mindfulness as called for by a person's individual needs. I look forward to hearing from you to see if we could be a good fit.

Laura Eidlitz's Groups

Co-Ed Interpersonal Process Group- Online

My colleague Dr. Daniel Sims and I are currently forming an interpersonal process group. This group is focused on better understanding interpersonal patterns and barriers to intimacy. Members will have the opportunity to explore how they interact with others, and how they draw others toward them or push others away. Current age range is 20s-40s. We're currently on Zoom but hope to move to Downtown Brooklyn in the future.

More about this group

Adult Children of Divorce (ACOD) Support Group

There is a false message from our culture that the divorce of parents does not really matter when you are a young adult because you may be away at college, living on your own, or even married with your own children. Group discussions will focus on: • Adjusting to parents as new people and their new partners • Role changes following parental divorce and the impact on sense of identity • Implications for intimacy and romantic relationships • Difficulties around setting boundaries. There will be 6 meetings, held via Zoom. https://familykind.org/acod-committee/
