My work is ultimately about mindful, skillful, and balanced living. Life is short-- I want my clients to enjoy the process regardless of what life throws at them. I help people move beyond difficulties such as substance abuse/other compulsions, excessive self-criticism, symptoms of depression and anxiety, difficulties with relationships, and other ineffective responses to life stressors. My approach is authentic and warm yet exceptionally direct. I'll help identify inadequate coping patterns so you can replace them with proven skills that lead to higher quality living. Our work will be results driven and customized to you.
I utilize a combination of depth oriented and evidence based techniques (EMDR, CBT, and DBT). My areas of expertise: substance abuse, addiction, trauma, self-esteem issues, and mood & anxiety disorders. My treatment is informed by continuous training and consultation. See my website for more information. www.lauradomash.com
Research indicates effective therapy is less a matter of technique and more a result of a trusting therapeutic relationship. Finding a therapist suited to you is CRUCIAL to a successful outcome. I bring a warm, authentic, and grounded presence to our work together in an effort to build therapeutic trust.

Professional Connections

Laura is a consummate professional. Of her many specialties, she shows great ability in helping her clients fight addiction and improve their physical and mental health. Laura and I meet weekly for case consultation, so I'm able to witness the support she consistently offers her clients. She and I report our cases using alias names to protect client confidentiality. Although I never learn of the client's identity, I'm able to witness the improvements in their lives which Laura's work engenders. Laura is a good friend and has proven to be a good mentor to me as I develop my own business. I refer clients to her when appropriate and have no doubt of her ability to offer a safe and helpful environment to her clientele.

I have known Laura Domash for over 8 years. In that time, I have watched her grow tremendously professionally and personally. Laura is always interested in learning more about mental health, above and beyond what's required to maintain her license. She brings to the table professionalism, empathy, knowledge, and humor. She puts her client's well-being first, and always strives to help in any way she can. I often consult with her about my cases, and her insight and feedback are truly remarkable. In addition, she practices what she preaches as she is passionate about health and wellness in her own life. Do not hesitate to call her! You will be in good hands.
