I have been a therapist for 20 years now and have had the privilege and honor to be a helper and guide to countless individuals and couples as they heal and pursue their true Self. "You are the one you have been waiting for,” you have what you need already inside of you, and it is finding the connection to the authentic self that allows us to be connected to others. If you want to find peace within yourself so that you can have peace in your relationships I can help you (and your partner). Through mindfulness and self-compassion we learn to be present with ourselves and others.
Internal Family Systems helps us to get to know the parts of ourselves we feel disconnected from. By approaching our stuck parts with curiosity we get them to relax. We listen to our younger parts and their stories to "make sense" of why they have to be protected. We shift from arguing with them to understanding the parts are there to help them in some way.
My approach to therapy is rooted in the belief that "it's the relationship that heals" (Irvin Yalom). From the foundation of trust and understanding built through modeling compassion I help my clients learn to identify their wounds from the past and heal themselves through self-compassion.
