I help reflective adults living in survival mode go from anxious, fearful, angry, or depressed to moving through life’s ups and downs with confidence, clarity, and awareness. Together we'll understand painful relational experiences or traumas that led to the development of self-protective coping mechanisms that were helpful at the time they were created, but may be keeping you stuck in a cycle of suffering today. This suffering may show up as anxiety, tension, anger, rage, people-pleasing, loose boundaries, disconnection from self or others, loneliness, fear, self-silencing, despair, health issues, sadness, grief and depression.
Counseling provides a safe, non-judgmental space to express emotions, replace unproductive self-judgment with self-understanding, modify coping mechanisms that are no longer helpful, and practice new ways of experiencing life & relationships. Painful patterns begin to hold less power and different ways of engaging with the self and others can be experienced.
If you're used to carrying it all alone, it takes courage to reach out for and accept support. I offer a deeply compassionate and non-judgmental approach and understand trust and safety can take time.
