As a Licensed Professional Counselor I offer support and encouragement in a safe and confidential environment. I have worked extensively with adolescents and their families to resolve a number of mental health issues. I have had extensive trainings in the treatment of trauma as well as depression and anxiety.
I am an EMDR trained therapist. EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. EMDR aims at reducing or eliminating the effects of trauma through bilateral stimulation. In addition I am trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). Which is a psychology approach for children and adolescents who are experiencing significant emotional and behavioral difficulties related to traumatic life events. EMDR and TF-CBT incorporates trauma-sensitive interventions to help process, manage and resolve thoughts and feelings related to traumatic life events.
