My name is Latoya, and I am the Owner/Clinical Director of T.Y.P Therapy. TYP stands for “Trust Your Process,” which is our motto. Our providers specialize in teens/adults ages 16-40. We believe that with the proper support, anyone can get close to reaching self-actualization. At T.Y.P Therapy, YOU are in charge of your treatment, which enables YOU to discover your inner strengths and values, allowing you to live a fulfilling life. We use an individualized, holistic, and person-centered approach, which allows us to support our clients based on their entire selves, such as their physical, emotional, social, and spiritual well-being.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, a Licensed Clinical Drug & Alcohol Counselor, and a Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist with over 11 years of field experience. No problem is too big or small for US to conquer. As a Caribbean American of Jamaican descent, I want to help others break barriers and eliminate the stigma associated with mental health.
I have experience working in psychiatric hospitals, addiction treatment centers, and corrections. I specialize in techniques such as cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, strength-based, solution-focused, person-centered, and humanistic approaches. Change happens when people are given the guidance needed to draw on their strengths.
