About
I specialize in the treatment of children, adolescents and young adults with anxiety, mood inconsistencies, social skills deficits, behavioral problems, poor self-esteem, ADHD, learning disabilities and adjustment problems (e.g., parental divorce). My particular area of expertise is working with children with ASD. My post-doctoral training was at Eden Autism Services supervised by Dr. Ron Comer, Director of Clinical Psychology at Princeton University. I am passionate about working with children and families to increase their happiness and quality of life.
I have extensive experience working in schools and with school professionals, enabling me to help clients generalize skills learned in counseling to that setting. I believe working with not just children but also the systems that support them (e.g., schools, other professionals) maximizes the growth children make.
My approach heavily emphasizes cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), collaborative problem-solving and a strength-based perspective. In a warm and supportive environment, children and families are empowered to gain skills needed to cope with and overcome challenges and strengthen relationships.
