Life can be difficult and challenging. We are often taught and develop maladaptive ways of coping just to get by. At some point in our life we could benefit from education and guidance on how to make improvements leading to a healthier more fulfilling life. That is the goal in therapy: to foster healing that leads to balance in one’s physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health. This may look different for each client. Some people need to simply be heard, others need to learn and make changes in their present life, and others need to process pain from their past that is still affecting them today.
I meet each client where they are at presently and together we'll decide what goals and treatment will best serve them. I utilize evidenced based theories and treatment such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR).
Therapy can be challenging yet greatly beneficial work. I work with individuals 18 years and older and couples. The problematic areas I treat often are categorized as depression, anxiety, stress, bipolar, addiction, codependency, and trauma.
