I created Associated Counselors of Tidewater 20 years ago with the sole intent to help people in emotional crisis. Couples that are having difficulties in their relationship with communicating and/or connecting on an emotionally intimate level creates a myriad of stressors in life. Learning new, effective communication tools, understanding how to reconnect consistently long-term, and establishing genuine empathy and a deep appreciate and emotional connection for a couple are key components to a loving relationship. In addition, I also work with many clients individually with issues with stress, anxiety, and depression.
I have worked with couples for over 20 years that needed a simple relationship reboot to couples that have complex, deep rooted issues through an emotionally focused approach to therapy. Understanding dysfunctional patterns and then developing healthy interactions that creates foundations of a solid bond is key to relationship happiness.
I am a therapist because I love what I do. Seeing a couple on the brink of separation then to a couple with a deep emotional connection provides me my professional purpose. Talking to someone about difficult issues is very hard. I'm here to listen and help.
