Marriage & Family Therapist, MA, LMFT

Most of my clients are high-functioning adults and couples who privately struggle with depression, anxiety, injured self-esteem, and relationship struggles. I specialize in helping adults undo the emotional burdens that formed as a result of childhood mistreatment and despair. From personal experience, I understand how difficult childhood experiences cultivate determination, drive, and character - but I also know these same unjust experiences lead to chronic feelings of self-doubt, inadequacy, insecurity, and dissatisfaction. As a therapist, I help clients neutralize the burdensome hurts of childhood injustices through a process that promotes thoughtful insight, emotional healing, and relational transformation.
The beauty of this work is that it emboldens us to embrace our inherent value in the world - loosening futile patterns of self-criticism, comparison, and regret. Overtime, clients report feeling a deep sense of internal relief which ultimately promotes deeper relationships, more inspired creativity, and more compassionate living.
Because I address the impact of childhood mistreatment and unjust childhood experiences, my work has been particularly useful to people who have ever been marginalized, oppressed, disenfranchised, or discriminated against. My work also resonates with people who are interested in examining the problematic dynamics of traditional masculinity, patriarchy, and dominance.

Alex is evolving the field of addiction treatment and psychotherapy at her Center by integrating neuro-science and attachment processes into their treatment protocol. This is perhaps the most exciting development to happen to the field in a long time.
