About
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor who believes in internal power and strength. It may feel like internal power and strength is non-existent because there are times when situations and circumstances seem to get the best of life. A way of escape may be to indulge in unhealthy habits (such as substances) that make things worse. This is where I can be of assistance because I work with individuals struggling with addictions (ages 18-65). If you need help in this area, therapy can be scary but courageous and a necessary step for you.
Often times family members believe they have not been affected by the unhealthy decisions made by addicts. I am here to help identify the affects of the addiction on the family.
I am currently co-owner of a private practice named Balance Beacon in Bedford, TX, where we also work with individuals, families, and marital/couples struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma (PTSD), and sex therapy. We also specialize in assessments.

LaFonya Jones-Hines's Groups
Family and loved ones of Addicts
Our group is for family members with a loved one suffering from addiction. This group is held on the second Saturday of each month for three months at a time. This is a closed group, meaning once the group starts, no other members can join until the next cohort. We use a curriculum specifically designed for those who are indirectly dealing with addiction. We focus on teaching group members about addiction cycles, setting boundaries, finding acceptance, as well as enhancing personal and family growth.
