My name is La’Constica Smith. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I approach therapy as a 2-way partnership with open communication in a safe environment. I treat a variety of mental health diagnoses including but not limited to depression, anxiety, trauma, divorce, ADHD, and odd. My goal is to create a safe and supportive empathetic and collaborative environment. My goal is to make the environment comfortable enough to promote healthy expressions of thoughts emotions and concerns without judgment.
I grew up in a community where mental health was labeled as "cliche". I watched as many people's lives were destroyed because it was not addressed, I believe a lot of the silent battles could have been addressed with problem-solving, effective communication, and therapy.
My approach is grounded in active listening and understanding to inside the person served feels heard and valued throughout the goal-setting interaction to create realistic measurable and person-centered goals based on expressed needs and treatment options.
