I believe one of the most courageous things you can do is begin to understand your own story. Many people see therapy as an intimidating situation. Often people envision a one-sided interaction with a distant therapist providing ambiguous feedback or over-generalized commentary. I am the opposite! I spend the time to gain get to know you and provide real, honest observations. I work to identify your personal strengths and utilize them to work towards your goals- I don't believe therapy has to be an emotionally painful process. Since 2014, I have helped individuals from a variety of backgrounds find meaning and purpose.

I know how hard it can be to juggle everyday stress, big life changes, and painful emotions. Over the past 12 years as a social worker, I’ve supported adults navigating depression, anxiety, substance use, and severe mental illness. Before this work, I was a full-time professional musician, and that creative background helps me bring openness, flexibility, and curiosity into the therapy space.

Many people reach a point where life feels full—not just of responsibilities, but of unprocessed thoughts, emotions, relational patterns, and experiences that have been pushed aside or left unexamined. Over time, these don’t simply disappear; they linger beneath the surface and often show up in other ways. What we avoid tends to return, asking for our attention in one way or another, sometimes more insistently than before. Therapy offers space to slow down and turn toward what has been quietly shaping your life.

My goal is to make clients feel supported, heard, and understood as they take the commendable step to start therapy. I believe each person holds instinctive wisdom about what they want and need for a healthy life, and that therapy is a wonderful way to bring this to the surface. As a therapist who holds white, hetero, and cis gender privilege, I am committed to ongoing self-reflection and accountability about how this privilege may show up in our therapy, in order to make this a safe environment.

There are many reasons or motivations people may have for seeing a therapist, and they are all valid: You might feel stuck, out of balance, disconnected. Maybe you and/or a loved one are experiencing some form of loss or distress, are seeking change or healing. You may want to foster growth, self-exploration, nourishment, or acceptance in your life. Perhaps you just need a space where you can be validated and supported, without judgement. My approach to therapy is eclectic and collaborative: working with you to tailor and adjust my methods to your strengths, preferences, and needs. In therapy, one size does NOT fit all.

Looking for a therapist who works at the intersection of soul and science?
I won't psychoanalyze you from behind a clipboard whispering “how do you feel about that?” on repeat. I’m here for the messy, anxious, “what the hell am I doing with my life” stuff. I work with overthinkers, feelers, perfectionists, Eeyores, & people who’ve spent way too long pretending they’re fine. I keep it safe so you can show your secrets and/or complain about current events. Plus, tips 'n' tricks to help you feel better quickly (goes best with a dash of homework). If your brain is loud, your boundaries fuzzy, or your inner critic won’t shut up—welcome.

FAQ - Therapist Gender
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or because they feel more comfortable with a therapist of their own gender due to shared life experiences or perspectives. Considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender may matter or improve their therapeutic experience. The most important consideration is that a client is able to build a trusting relationship with their therapist.
Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist. For women, this could be because they believe that they will be able to better connect with a woman, and that a female therapist will be able to relate to their specific challenges and personal issues. It may be particularly beneficial for women to see a female therapist, for example, for gender-specific issues, such as sexism in the workplace, relationship issues, and gender roles. The most important factor in therapy is the client-therapist connection, and a therapist's gender as well as many other factors may play an important role in this.
Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.
How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
