Counseling is not just an educational endeavor for me, it is my true life’s passion. As my primary spiritual/natural gift, my purpose on earth is to utilize my counseling skills to serve others in any capacity that I can. We have all felt sad, angry, lonely, misunderstood, unforgiven, misused, abused, fed up, and so on and so forth. Our goal in therapy would be to examine your emotional well being and how it impacts your life. While you process through everything from past trauma to current conflicts, it is significant to know that your growth and healing is what is most important to me.

Persons with addiction are valiant warriors pitted against a formidable foe. I have been privileged thru the years to come alongside the bravest of these people, wounded by denial, loss of family, wealth, health, even freedom. I have rejoiced with them in their victories and mourned with them in their defeats. I have worked with their families who bear similar losses and pain. I offer an non-judgmental approach to seeking the best solution for the individual and/or family members. Please call and allow me to assist you and your loved ones to take the first step to recovery.

I offer therapy in person and online.
I specialize in working with couples who are thoughtful and deeply invested in their relationships—but still find themselves stuck. Many of the couples I see are navigating recurring conflict, loss of connection, infidelity, or the strain of major life transitions. Others feel frustrated that insight alone hasn’t created lasting change. I also work with individuals who want their emotional lives and relationships to be more fulfilling. Therapy is a place to move beyond awareness into meaningful, sustainable change. Often, an outside perspective can help to bring new ideas and tools to old struggles.

I am seeing all clients via TeleHealth and Face to Face.
I have always had a desire to help people since I was a small child. As a young adult my interest began to grow towards the helping profession. My faith is important to me. It is my faith that continues to drive my profession as a therapist. I believe in life we experience so many things that effect how we think, live, and grow as a person. I wanted to gain more knowledge on how to be effective in helping people. So, then begins my journey to social work.

Has motherhood bombarded you with emotions that reflect depression, anxiety, feeling trapped between crippling thoughts of uncertainty, shame, guilt, hopeless, or feeling overwhelmed with the common realities that new moms experience? Life with a new baby changes everything, and for most your days are startled by the arrival of doubt and fears that may replace the love in your heart. Societal stigma convey that mothers should conceal their alarming thoughts. I am here to tell you 'Good Mothers' have these thoughts, and that all mothers may not feel good about being mothers all the time.

It's OK to not be OK today, but it's not OK to think you won't be OK tomorrow. In order for you to have a stable mindset you have to stop giving today's strength for tomorrow's battles, that brings on anxiety. While wasting today's energy on thoughts of yesterday’s could've, should've leads to depression. Begin living one day at a time, one breath at a time, doing and completing all things one at a time. While facing life challenges, you never have to feel alone; it's beneficial to have someone supportive who is accepting & caring while in therapy. Rebuilding, reconciling dysfunctional lives with hope & commitment to work together.

I'm a licensed professional counselor. In therapy, I focus on restoring a sense of balance and self-efficacy for my clients. I like to demystify therapy: therapy works best when you know that the person cares about you and makes your best interests the priority. My goal is to be honest and considerate so that can happen. Get to know me and we'll work together to rediscover and develop the best parts of you. I have a special interest in working with marginalized populations. I enjoy helping those who've been othered, scapegoated, and discriminated against. I'm committed to creating a brave space that prioritizes safety for you.

I see clients online and in person, and treat OCD & related anxiety disorders, phobias, and BFRBs, including "taboo" OCD themes.
It can be challenging to feel beaten down and struggle with scary, intrusive, and unwanted repetitive distressing thoughts. You may feel compelled to ask for repeated reassurance, perform behaviors multiple times or in a certain way, mentally review or check excessively, or even avoid people or situations you care about due to your fear and anxiety. You may have anxiety about anxiety. You may have tried talk therapy before, but haven’t seen the results you are looking for, and want to feel more flexible & less rigid about your behaviors. You want to live a life that feels important to you, and are ready to do the work to get there.

I work with all age groups and offer both in-person and telehealth sessions.
Life is far from easy. It’s even harder when you don’t have someone you can talk to without worrying about judgment, criticism, or bias. My goal in the counseling relationship is to be that steady person in your life who can sit with you in both chaos and calm, help you slow it down or speed it up, but ultimately to figure out what works for you. I come to this work with years of experience as a first responder, and I carry that perspective with me — especially when sitting with trauma, crisis, and the kind of pain that doesn’t always get talked about.

FAQ - About In Person Therapy
What are the benefits of in-person therapy?
In-person therapy offers several benefits that some people find highly valuable for their mental health treatment. Being present in the same room as your therapist can create a stronger sense of connection and allow for more nuanced communication through body language. Some people may also find it easier to focus in therapy when they are in a dedicated space and away from potential distractions related to home or work; attending an in-person session provides a clear boundary between therapy time and the rest of your life. For certain therapeutic approaches, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), exposure therapy, or somatic therapy, being in person may be particularly important, as these therapies benefit from the therapist being able to observe and respond to a client’s physical cues effectively. Additionally, some individuals simply feel more comfortable discussing sensitive or painful topics when they are face-to-face with their therapist rather than on a screen.

When should I choose in-person therapy over online therapy?
In-person therapy may be a better choice when you need a structured therapeutic environment separate from your daily life, when you find it difficult to focus or feel comfortable in an online setting, or when privacy at home is a concern. It may also be more appropriate if you are dealing with severe mental health symptoms that require close monitoring or if your therapy involves approaches that rely heavily on observing physical cues. On the other hand, if convenience, scheduling flexibility, or access to specialists outside your immediate area are priorities, online therapy may be a better fit. Many therapists offer both options, so you can also discuss with a provider which format might work best for your specific situation.

How do I find an in-person therapist?
You can use Psychology Today's therapist directory to find an in-person therapist in your area. You can search by location, insurance accepted, specialty areas, therapeutic approaches, and other criteria to narrow down providers who meet your needs. Each therapist profile includes information about their credentials, areas of expertise, and whether they offer in-person sessions. Once you have identified potential therapists, you can contact them directly through the directory to schedule an initial consultation and determine whether they are a good fit before committing to ongoing treatment. When reaching out, it can be helpful to confirm their availability for in-person appointments, their office location, and whether they accept your insurance.
