I use an eclectic combination of EMDR, CBT, Mindfulness and other interventions based on each person’s preferences and needs, with a dash of humor on occasion.
Are you struggling with a major life change? Maybe you’re finding the transition into parenthood more challenging than you expected, perhaps you are going through a shift in your career, or family dynamics are changing and you would like some outside support to help you navigate next steps. Whatever may be causing stress in your life, you deserve to have someone in your corner to lift you up and gently offer strategies to help you achieve your goals. Maybe you’re not sure what you need, but you recognize the need for additional support. I would be honored to be the person to accompany you in this chapter of your journey.

Are you ready for a change? Do you feel like you're stuck in the mire of mediocrity? Believe it or not, you've got everything it takes to create the life you deserve. Maybe you just need some inspiration. Or a swift kick in the ass. Or somebody to help you change your thinking. I know I did. If you feel unfulfilled and wonder why nothing seems to go your way, I promise I can relate. I struggled in every aspect of my life. I struggled in my career, in my relationships, and in trying to navigate my own mind. Many days, I struggled just to get out of bed. Then, I decided I'd had enough. I decided it was time for a change.

Pain, trauma, and anxiety have a way of keeping us stuck, replaying the same patterns, the same responses, the same version of a life we know isn't quite what we hoped for. Whether that weight comes from the past or the present, you don't have to keep carrying it alone. I believe healing happens when you feel truly seen. I honor the courage it takes to look at your wounds, sit with the messy parts, and ask for help anyway. That courage deserves a safe place to land.

You're a high-achieving woman who has done everything "right" — and still feels exhausted, stuck, or like something essential is missing. Maybe you're navigating a major life transition, holding everything together while quietly falling apart, or carrying the emotional weight of pregnancy, infertility, or loss. You deserve more than coping. You deserve to truly thrive.

These are just a few of the areas I specialize in.

I specialize in using DBT, CBT, and IFS modalities to help adults (and some teens) struggling with substance use, personality disorders, self-harm/suicidal thoughts, emotional outbursts, and other behavioral issues.
We all begin the therapeutic journey with our own set of strengths and needs. Our uniqueness can promote creativity, new perspectives, and collaboration. Other times our uniqueness can be terminal; leading to emptiness, feeling disconnected from self and others, and beliefs that mental health treatment may work for other people, but it won’t work for you. Therapy is not about “getting over” events and issues; it’s about understanding your triggers and learning how to manage your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors so that you can move forward and continue to build a fulfilling life.

Most people come to therapy because something isn't working anymore. A child who melts down over seemingly small things. A teenager who has shut everyone out. A parent who's exhausted. An adult who's spent years holding it together while quietly wondering, "Why is this so hard?" One thing I've learned is this: behavior has a story. My job is to slow things down, get curious, and help you understand what's happening beneath the surface so change becomes possible.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT) Therapists
How does cognitive behavioral therapy work?
Cognitive behavioral therapy works by exploring how your thoughts affect your emotions and experiences. CBT helps you identify distortions in your thinking. For example, you may tend to jump to the worst case scenario catastrophizing or think in extremes (all-or-nothing thinking). A therapist can teach you how to push back against those thoughts to ultimately change your feelings and behavior for the better. They can also provide coping skills to better deal with stressors and challenges.

When do I know to seek treatment with cognitive behavioral therapy?
It’s reasonable to consider cognitive behavioral therapy if you struggle to manage difficult emotions or behaviors to such an extent that you are not getting the most out of life on a day-to-day basis. If you want a shorter term, concrete, skills-based approach, CBT is a great option. (By contrast, other types of therapy may devote more time to exploring your past and its effects.) The decision to seek CBT also depends on the condition you’re treating; CBT is an effective treatment for anxiety, depression, trauma, and many other disorders.

How can I find a cognitive behavioral therapist for someone else?
To find a cognitive behavioral therapist for someone else, you may want to begin by discussing the person’s problem, researching cognitive behavioral therapy, and assessing whether the approach is the right fit. You could then reach out to a few cognitive behavioral therapists in this directory, explain the scenario, have a consultation with those available, and determine who could be a good match.

Why is CBT such a popular form of therapy?
CBT has become a popular form of therapy because it is effective and accessible. Robust research has demonstrated that CBT is an effective treatment for many mental health conditions. And CBT can be learned in relatively few sessions, which means that many people can engage in the process, afford it, and see results quickly. It involves learning concrete skills such as disputing unhelpful thoughts; these skills can also be taught and spread widely.
