I have worked with clients ages 14-40 who suffer with issues such as trauma, abuse, anxiety , depression, low self-esteem, & major life transitions.
Are you feeling anxious? Are you overwhelmed & overstimulated? Are you saying things like "I just don't feel like myself" and feel like this isn't how things should be? Every step of the journey through fertility/infertility, pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period can sometimes feel like an uphill battle no one prepared you for. In a time where others expect you to feel bliss, it is frustrating when you feel sadness, hopelessness, and fear instead. You don't have to suffer with anxiety , depression, & your scary thoughts alone. You are not your thoughts, and your feelings aren't facts.

EMDR can also help anxiety , panic attacks, migraines, and chronic pain.
Despite your best efforts lack of change is compelling you to courageously consider another approach. Trauma or PTSD may haunt you with painful memories, nightmares, anxiety , sleep problems, depression, grief, or relationship problems. You may be unsure what you experienced is considered traumatic yet it continues to interrupt your life. I’ve been honored to help many clients reconnect with their authentic selves so they can lead a fulfilling life, including the unique challenges of working in frontline, mental health, and emergency services. If you feel ready enough to begin healing, you are in the right place.

As an experienced School Counselor, I have extensive experience in child development, anxiety , ADHD and peer relationships.
Raising a child in these uneasy times can be frustrating, confusing, and scary, and it’s okay that you’re feeling like you could use some support. As a counselor and “feelings expert,” I create a safe space for your child to explore emotions. I use play, art and activity-based approaches to help your child talk and play through their uncomfortable feelings. I love to sit on the floor, draw, build and have fun with children to help them open up to me. For your older children, I use activity-based therapy and talk therapy in session.

I have worked with clients in a variety of settings over the past seven years addressing areas such as grief, depression, anxiety , and stress.
Life is hectic, and at times, it can be downright brutal! However, our culture rewards those who "push through" regardless of their circumstances. Before long, you're five miles to empty. You have no energy, you're not sleeping well, you're irritable, depressed, anxious, and at times emotionally detached from everything and everyone. My ideal client is someone who is looking to slow down and drown out the noises stifling their inner voice. Mourning loss, cultivating self-acceptance, creating useful internal dialogue, and establishing boundaries are possible when we choose to stop running on fumes and allow ourselves to be still.

I invite you to an open space to hear your own voice. In a fast pace world one may often find themselves feeling a sense of 'separation from self'. As you practice noticing your experience, and listening to the messages of your emotions and physiological sensations, a deeper understanding develops. By ‘attending and befriending' ones pain and suffering it settles inside, and symptoms of stress, depression, and anxiety become integrated into healthier lifestyle patterns allowing for greater joy and overall well-being.

Emotions tend to be at their root of what concerns us. The fashion we act when our feelings are something we deny generally causes our dominant issues: depression, anxiety , anger, guilt, sadness. With reflection and foundational understanding we can begin growing towards a better life every day.

Anxiety Therapists

What are the most common treatments for anxiety?

Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?

The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

When should I seek treatment for anxiety?

Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?

Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
