I work with adolescents and adults on anxiety, depression , transitions, and adjustments. As a LGBT allied counselor, I aim to support the associated challenges that my clients encounter within themselves, their family, and community. I also enjoy working with couples and individuals to make their relationships successful, enjoyable, and easier. In my work I have had powerful alliances and opportunities for professional growth from in-home counseling to in-patient mental health counseling to intensive outpatient counseling. In my work experience, I have found one thing in common: we all strive for meaningfulness.

I have worked closely with clients experiencing a variety of mental health challenges, including but not limited to depression , anxiety, chronic mental illness, addiction, trauma, grief, and adjusting to major life changes.
Navigating through the human experience can be difficult and overwhelming at times. Deciding to seek guidance in times of struggle may seem daunting; however, my goal as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker is to walk alongside you on your journey. My desire to empower those in need began shortly after I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the age of six. I was inspired by my healthcare providers, whose personalized care, support, and knowledge provided the foundation for living a healthy and fulfilling life.

I work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression , and difficulty with life transitions and specialize in treatment specific to pregnancy and postpartum needs, including, anxiety, depression , traumatic birth experiences, and fetal or infant demise.
Motherhood is often described as a blissful experience full of connection and contentment between mother, baby, and family. However, the truth is motherhood (and parenthood) can be a difficult transition. Sometimes, it isn't what we expected. Sometimes, mothers and spouses feel anxiety, depression , OCD, mood swings, or relationship difficulties. My passion for helping families began from my own experience with motherhood. My goal is to provide education, support, and treatment to women and families experiencing difficulties before, during and after pregnancy and/or loss. You are not alone. You can get through this. And I can help.

With 8 years of experience working with all ages, I specialize in anxiety, depression , codependency, trauma, divorce, perfectionism, relationship issues, self-esteem, aging, women’s issues and life transitions. I particularly enjoy individuals who are open-minded, motivated, and willing to do the work while trusting the therapeutic process. It is so important to be willing to try new things by venturing out of your comfort zone during our time together. By not having to rely strictly on medication to mask your issues, therapy teaches you to cope with life’s struggles, and thus change your fearful view of the world.

Depression Therapists
Depressive disorders are characterized by persistent feelings of sadness and worthlessness and a lack of desire to engage in formerly pleasurable activities. Depression is not a passing blue mood, which almost everyone experiences from time to time, but a complex mind/body illness that interferes with everyday functioning. It not only darkens one's outlook, it is commonly marked by sleep problems and changes in energy levels and appetite. It alters the structure and function of nerve cells so that it disrupts the way the brain processes information and interprets experience.

Despite feelings of hopelessness and worthlessness, depression is a treatable condition. It can be treated with psychotherapy. As with many illnesses, the earlier treatment begins, the more effective it can be and the greater the likelihood that recurrence can be prevented.

Psychotherapy addresses the thinking patterns that precipitate depression, and studies show that it prevents recurrence. Drug therapy is often helpful in relieving symptoms, such as severe anxiety, so that people can engage in meaningful psychotherapy.
