I believe in the importance of building a strong counseling relationship to create an avenue for change. Our initial session together will be focused around exploring and setting goals and seeing if we are the right fit to help you reach those goals. You might be feeling confused or scared about where to turn and how to start. Sometimes it helps to talk to someone who doesn't already know you. Someone who won't judge you. That is why I focus on creating a safe space in which you will feel comfortable.

Hi, my name is Nisha Talwar. A brief intro is that I love to challenge my clients, give them a different perspective and help them to see things differently. I would want the clients to empower themselves, make the ability to take responsibility for their actions. I enjoy working with multicultural population and I know we are each unique in some ways whereas share the some commonalities among us. I have worked in the field of mental health for several years with a cross section of the population. I firmly believe that capitalizing on strengths and hidden potentials will facilitate healing and boost confidence

My work is grounded in person-centered, somatic, and strengths-based approaches and I'm especially passionate about working with the LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent communities.
Feeling lost, overwhelmed, or stuck is a deeply human experience. I believe that all people, children and adults alike, carry an inner wisdom that we sometimes fall out of touch with. As your therapist, my role is to help you reconnect with and nurture that innate knowing. If this is your first time in therapy, know that it’s okay to feel unsure. You don’t need to have anything figured out to begin, just come as you are and we will start from there.

We don't have good words in the English Language for pain. We think of it as something that is almost completely physical. We assume that if someone can't point to a wound then they must not be in pain. Then when we try to express the pain we have to use words like depression, anxiety, post traumatic stress disorder, or addiction. Instead of just being able to say, "I am hurting, and I want to stop." My goal is to help you find ways to stop hurting. Healing is often painful itself, but there can be a life with less pain.

I offer teletherapy, as well as in-person sessions for clients; Weekday evenings and Saturday appointments available.
Counseling can appear to be overwhelming and intimidating. However it does not have to be this way. As we seek validation and acceptance in our lives, there are certain paths that we must take to find them. I believe one of the most important things is for people to learn how to get along with other important people in their lives, such as friends, spouses, siblings, relatives, co-workers, etc. Additionally, I strongly believe that the fundamental relationship between a client and counselor is to foster openness, trust, and personal growth.

Are you feeling anxious? Are you overwhelmed & overstimulated? Are you saying things like "I just don't feel like myself" and you feel like this isn't how things should be? Every step of the journey through fertility/infertility, pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period can sometimes feel like an uphill battle no one prepared you for. In a time where others expect you to feel bliss, it is frustrating when you feel sadness, hopelessness, and fear instead. You don't have to suffer with anxiety, depression, & your scary thoughts alone. You are not your thoughts, and your feelings are valid and important.
