I believe that all people have the capacity to live well and to create the solutions they seek. My role as counselor is to hold the light as you find your own way. How do I do that? I create a warm, judgment-free space to be seen and heard, accepted and respected, challenged and nurtured. I offer a space where client and counselor work together using creative expression to make sense of thoughts and feelings and to gain clarity.

My ideal client would be some who wants to change, but is having difficulties. They may not know their goals, but we can work to clarify them. What they need is someone who will look in their eyes and be honest with them.

No one escapes the challenges of the human experience, we all just need the tools to learn to heal! I specialize in trauma (PTSD) and offer Brainspotting Therapy. Brainspotting is a psychotherapy tool that utilizes less thought-based talk therapy and more focused mindfulness on your somatic (body) experience - the window into our natural healing process. Research shows Brainspotting can lessen symptom burden in one session. It’s highly effective for trauma, anxiety, anger, performance and creative blocks, or sports enhancement.

Life can become overwhelming at times, and seeking help can be the first courageous act in achieving a higher quality of living.
It is incredibly important to me that clients feel accepted and heard. Holding space for clients who are exploring their sexuality and gender identity is an integral part of my practice. Because therapy is not one size fits all, I use an eclectic approach from multiple different modalities to help clients reach their goals.

I come from a Person-Centered approach where I typically use Cognitive Behavior Therapy and ACT therapy.
Welcome! This is a promising first step to making your life, yours again. We experience a range of life changing events and one thing is certain, it can be hard to process and recover from those tough moments. Fortunately, we have the ability to heal ourselves through the process of change. I practice from a trauma-informed perspective and have experience in a variety of areas, but primarily, my focus is with anxiety, infidelity, couples & marriage concerns, depression, personality development, identity, stress, men's issues, and peer-to-peer relationships. I am motivated to helping my clients find the solutions they are seeking.

" Overall, my approach is client-centered and holistic, with an emphasis on acceptance and mindfulness.
My personal experience growing up in the rural south USA has led me to this path. I was attracted to a supportive role, especially for individuals who struggle with boundaries and expression. It is a personal goal of mine to help others feel understood, fulfilled, and experience peace along their journey.

With a holistic approach, I help clients build resilience, improve communication, and foster self- acceptance.
Healing begins with feeling truly seen, heard, and accepted. You are not broken—you are evolving, growing, and becoming more aligned with your values and desires. In a space of understanding and support, past wounds feel lighter, and self-discovery becomes possible. True healing happens when you feel safe to explore, express, and embrace every part of yourself. Therapy offers the opportunity to move beyond survival mode and create a life filled with meaning and connection.

I do my best to make therapy an accessible, human process by building a safe, stable, healthy therapeutic relationship using hope, humor, and open acceptance without judgement.
Hey, there. I'm Zach (he/they). Chances are, if you're here, you've found yourself at a point in your life where you want, or perhaps need, to make a change, even if you don't quite know what that change is yet. That's alright. A good therapist is like having a trusted guide by your side to help you figure out the best path forward and to ease you through the harder spots. I'll help you figure out where you need to be, plot the best route to get you there, and support you every step of the way. If the story of your life isn't what you think it should be, let me help you rewrite it in a way that better fits.

I often use somatic and mindfulness therapeutic techniques and incorporate ACT or CBT interventions to prepare for EMDR therapy.
Aiming to thrive and not solely survive? Despite our adverse experiences or current circumstances, we can find ourselves wanting to find more meaning in life. I help clients slow down to closely examine the obstacles that are interfering with their ability to live the life they envision. My approach to counseling is to learn to love yourself as you are while working on your areas of growth. We are all worthy of self-love and self-compassion, but all too often this is absent in our lives. My hope is that through this process you find your true self and are courageous enough to embrace and live out your most authentic life!

Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) Therapists

How does acceptance and commitment therapy work?

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy encourages a person to listen to their self-talk. A person’s inner dialog can be indicative of how they treat themselves. ACT also encourages self-compassion; this can lead to a better understanding of negative thought patterns and emotional states. This understanding can then lead the individual to needed behavior change.

What are the goals of acceptance and commitment therapy?

The goal of acceptance and commitment is to expand a person’s psychological flexibility, a trait that encourages an individual to live in the present moment and to accept all their thoughts, feelings, and emotions, even ones that are difficult such as sadness and anxiety. In ACT, this acceptance is congruent with the individual’s values and beliefs.

Does acceptance and commitment therapy work for depression?

Acceptance and commitment therapy is effective for depression because it allows the individual to view their discomfort and suffering differently. Depressive feelings about relationship heartaches, for example, are a part of life. A despondent person learns to let go of their struggles and instead view their painful thoughts and feelings with compassion. This will lead the individual toward positive change.

How long are people typically in acceptance and commitment therapy?

A typical acceptance and commitment therapy session is 50 minutes long with one session per week. Treatment for common problems such as anxiety, depression, or relationship difficulties can last between eight weeks to four months. However, more severe cases may require more than one session a week and/or a longer time frame for treatment.
