Thank you for visiting my profile. I recognize counseling as a process in which the client and counselor develop a relationship to explore and define the client’s presenting problem. I believe it is essential for both parties to work as a team to examine client issues and to develop counseling goals to improve client welfare. It is my goal to create an environment, which provides warmth, genuineness, and understanding toward the client. Establishing and maintaining a rapport is essential for effective counseling to transpire. Trust and mutual respect are also needed components to enhance the counseling experience.

Many of us struggle to break free from long-standing patterns that become ingrained in how we relate to ourselves and others. These patterns can pervade our daily lives, pulling us away from genuine presence in the fleeting, vital experiences that give life its depth, while hindering our growth and success. They can leave us disconnected from meaning, belonging, and a sense of possibility. Yet by recognizing and loosening them, space opens not only for greater presence, growth, and connection, but also for a more authentic engagement with the questions of existence itself—how we love, create, and find purpose.

Are you currently experiencing stress? Feeling unseen, unheard or just having difficulty managing daily life? In practice, I strive to help with navigating through life's transitions and explore unresolved feelings. I believe everyone has their own story that contributes to what they are currently experiencing. I intend to foster a safe space for that story to be told, gain insight on the impact of those experiences and work towards a new and fulfilling present.

Therapy sessions are in-person or online with availability M-Th from 9 AM - 7 PM, depending on availability.
Hi there! Welcome to Kind Mind, which can be the gentle landing place you have been looking for. My name is Morgan and I'm already so proud of you for starting this journey. Whether you are seeking out therapy as a means to heal from past traumas or are just looking to grow in self-compassion and awareness, welcome! It can be crazy hard to change, and harder still to acknowledge change is needed. It truly is my greatest honor to sit across from individuals and couples who are taking that first step to better themselves - with and immense amount of courage and curiosity - knowing that change can be really hard and uncomfortable.

I have been working as a therapist for over 28 years and believe the better we know ourselves the better decisions we are able to make. Informed decisions are directly related to overall life satisfaction. Psychotherapy is a tool that provides insight, support and a non-judgmental environment which allows you to become conscious of who you are, why you are struggling and how to heal in order to find what it is you truly want in your life. Therapy is a collaborative process and a relationship where trust is critical. Finding the "right therapist" is also a must. I provide free consultations to ensure a good fit for every client.

My ideal client is someone who is doing their best but feels weighed down by self-doubt, stress, or emotional pain. They may be navigating depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, ADHD, low self-worth, or struggles within their relationships or family dynamics. Deep down, they want clarity, emotional stability, and confidence. They want to break old patterns, communicate more effectively, and feel more in control of their life. Most of all, they want to believe in themselves again and feel capable of moving forward with strength and purpose.

I provide counseling in-person or telehealth, depending on the clients' preference.
I see counseling as a collaborative and dynamic process in which the client and I come to understand and trust one another, work as a team to explore and define the present problem, situations, and concerns, develop future goals for an improved life, and work in a systematic fashion toward realizing those goals. I enjoy working with clients across the lifespan on various issues. I work from a systems or systematic approach, pulling a lot of insight from biological components affecting emotion, societal messages about gender norms, and family systems theory. I really enjoy working with individuals as well as couples and families.

I am available for in person visits in the office at Counsel NOLA on Mondays and Wednesdays, and I offer telehealth on Tues & Thurs.
You may look like you’re holding things together on the outside, but inside you feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure of who you are anymore. Many of the people I work with are thoughtful, capable adults who feel stuck—caught between responsibility, self-criticism, and a sense that life shouldn’t feel this heavy.

FAQ - About In Person Therapy
What are the benefits of in-person therapy?
In-person therapy offers several benefits that some people find highly valuable for their mental health treatment. Being present in the same room as your therapist can create a stronger sense of connection and allow for more nuanced communication through body language. Some people may also find it easier to focus in therapy when they are in a dedicated space and away from potential distractions related to home or work; attending an in-person session provides a clear boundary between therapy time and the rest of your life. For certain therapeutic approaches, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), exposure therapy, or somatic therapy, being in person may be particularly important, as these therapies benefit from the therapist being able to observe and respond to a client’s physical cues effectively. Additionally, some individuals simply feel more comfortable discussing sensitive or painful topics when they are face-to-face with their therapist rather than on a screen.

When should I choose in-person therapy over online therapy?
In-person therapy may be a better choice when you need a structured therapeutic environment separate from your daily life, when you find it difficult to focus or feel comfortable in an online setting, or when privacy at home is a concern. It may also be more appropriate if you are dealing with severe mental health symptoms that require close monitoring or if your therapy involves approaches that rely heavily on observing physical cues. On the other hand, if convenience, scheduling flexibility, or access to specialists outside your immediate area are priorities, online therapy may be a better fit. Many therapists offer both options, so you can also discuss with a provider which format might work best for your specific situation.

How do I find an in-person therapist?
You can use Psychology Today's therapist directory to find an in-person therapist in your area. You can search by location, insurance accepted, specialty areas, therapeutic approaches, and other criteria to narrow down providers who meet your needs. Each therapist profile includes information about their credentials, areas of expertise, and whether they offer in-person sessions. Once you have identified potential therapists, you can contact them directly through the directory to schedule an initial consultation and determine whether they are a good fit before committing to ongoing treatment. When reaching out, it can be helpful to confirm their availability for in-person appointments, their office location, and whether they accept your insurance.
