Over the last 30 years I have worked with clients addressing issues such as depression, anxiety, substance abuse/behavioral addictions, grief/loss, ADHD/behavior disorders, trauma and marital problems.
Whether you're facing overwhelming stress, coping with a painful or unhealthy relationship or hoping to break free of self-defeating behavior patterns, the decision to seek psychotherapy is a sign of courage. In fact, the act of seeking help is, itself, a sign of hope. When I first meet with a client, I listen to understand what you want to change in your life. Then, through building insight and identifying effective action, I walk along the path of healing with you.

Our first session is all about getting to know each other and building a comfortable space where you feel heard and understood. We'll start with an assessment to explore your goals, challenges, history and what prompted you to seek support. This helps me tailor the approach specifically to your needs. During the session, I’ll explain how our work together will progress, including what methods or tools we might use. Expect a warm, supportive environment where there’s no pressure or judgement. You’re encouraged to ask any questions or share your concerns—this is your time, and your comfort matters most.

In a society heavily influenced by opinions, it can be hard to distinguish reality in our daily lives. Navigating through difficult situations becomes a greater challenge while also trying to discover your purpose and self-worth. I believe that therapy requires a holistic approach which aims to improve the mental, physical, social and spiritual health of every person I encounter.

I support individuals and couples navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, perinatal concerns, and relationship changes.
Life can feel overwhelming — especially when you’re holding a lot of space for everyone else. Over time, stress, transitions, and relationship challenges can begin to feel heavy and isolating. I offer therapy to individuals and couples who are navigating emotional exhaustion, relationship stress, major life transitions, or a growing sense that something needs to change. This work is not about fixing you, but about creating space to understand what you’re carrying and how it’s impacting your life and relationships.

My therapy practice has a special focus in helping clients struggling with anxiety, depression, phobias, obsessive and compulsive cycles, and trauma or PTSD through evidence based treatments like ERP, EMDR, and CBT / DBT.
When you're feeling overwhelmed and tired from endless worrying or obsessive thought cycles, you find yourself avoiding more, overthinking more, and trying to prevent or predict anything that can go wrong. People tell you to "just relax" or that "there's nothing to worry about", but if it were that easy, you would have already done that. You begin to feel depressed, miserable, and stuck. It seems like you’ve tried everything, but nothing seems to work, at least not for very long.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists
When should I seek treatment for trauma?
Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?
Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?
Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?
It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
