Now I work with adults, including senior citizens. I work with grief, depression, anxiety, aging, and relational issues. Training, personal experience, and professional practice have tended to focus my attention and work in those areas. I start with an assessment of a person's issues and their strengths to cope with those issues. Together, we develop other strengths that are needed. I see my task as that of a navigator to help you, as the driver, find the best path to achieve your goals, traveling at your most appropriate speed. I help you watch for obstacles and deal with them.
Relationships are either assets or liabilities, starting with our relationship with ourselves. The way we feel about ourselves affects not only us but our family and friends. I still work with young and middle aged adults, but as I have lived longer I have increased my focus on senior citizens. We treat the whole person from 18 to 90+.
With the pandemic experience of recent years the flexibility of services is essential. Therefore, both in person and virtual services are offered. This has increased access to mental health services for people with mobility limitations due to any cause. If we cannot meet your needs we are glad to refer you to someone better suited for your situation.
